Christmas Break!

Christmas break is something we haven't really experienced since graduation and there is definitely something to be said for school schedules! We were so thankful to have Aaron all to ourselves for 2 full weeks! We began by opening some presents a bit early in preparation for our long trip out west :) Carter was thrilled to receive a Cinderella dress, crown and wand - which she insists on putting on each day as soon as she gets up. She also got her own mini DVD player which came in handy for the long drives we had ahead.

Our trip began with 5 days in Las Vegas for a Dille family reunion. Chris & Alison finalized their adoption of Baby Mark and we all celebrated with a sealing ceremony and blessing. Despite some very cold weather, we enjoyed walking around the strip, seeing the fountains at the Bellagio and visiting the lions at MGM Grand. It was pretty cool to have all the aunts, uncles & cousins in the same house too.

When everyone else headed home, the three of us then set out for a full day at California Adventure and Disneyland, which Carter just loved! It was so much fun to see her interact with characters that she recognized and ride some big girl rides. From there, it was on to Phoenix for 2 days of gorgeous weather. We enjoyed spending some time with Patrick and his new fiance as well as seeing Dan again. While it made me very sad to drive around Ahwatukee knowing we had to leave, the visit was well worth it. We even scored some great finds at our favorite Goodwill store :)
